Scratch and Sniff

This game is a variation taken from the book "The Tarot Playbook" by Lynda Cowles (thanks 55Degrees for reminding me what a great book it is from the Book Recommendations post).

The idea is to shuffle and randomly pick a card. Then pick one sensory aspect that could be associated with the card.

For example (as taken from the book): "The 9 of Wands might sound like soldiers trudging through the mud. The Empress might smell of fragrant flowers, the 8 of Pentacles might feel like heavy, oily machinery and the Moon might taste like absinthe."

You get the idea.

I'll start.

9 of Cups

Smells like stale wine.

Queen of Swords.

Smells like antiseptic.

I have no idea why I associate her with it but I do

Hahahahahaha! That's freaking hysterical! I can see it though. Especially as I sometimes associate the Queen of Swords as a specialist doctor or surgeon.


The Emperor.

Feels like that rough, scratchy wool material. Similar to the English wool jackets, you don't want it to touch your skin as it's really itchy and harsh.

Knight of Swords.

Sounds like a teenage tantrum.

2 of Coins smells like a fish quay.

55Degrees ^ Hahahahaha!

Ace of Cups - sounds like a waterfall

9 of Pentacles

Feels like velvet.

The Fool
Smells like cut grass and mountain air.

10 of Pentacles

Smells like a barbecue.

Queen of cups

Smells like salt water and spring.

Death

Sounds like crying.

8 of Wands

Sounds like rushing wind

9 of cups

Smells like sweet wine.

2 of Wands

Smells like fresh sea air.

Knight of cups.

Sounds like wailing.

2 of Swords.

Smell of frost and earth.

Smells intoxicating.
